Happy Feet with Clare Cleveland

Trainer Clare Cleveland has instructed at A Body of Work for the last 10 years with Gyrotonic at the center of her movement practice. Previously Clare worked as a solo Gyrotonic instructor at another fitness studio and wanted to be alongside trainers who were doing the same work. Clare says she “jumped at the opportunity” to join many of her already long-time colleagues at A Body of Work and has stayed ever since.

“I love the colleagues that I work alongside at ABOW. They are truly masters of their craft. The care they put into their work and their tenacious desire to always learn and know more inspires me.”

With Gyrotonic being the basis of her training, Clare also draws from other movement modalities to inform her work. These include therapeutic yoga, the Franklin Method, years of studying the anatomy of movement, and her 23 years of experience teaching movement to private clients in the Bay Area. Clare’s sessions and classes address the whole body, and aim to create balanced strength, ease, and fluid mobility in every joint and muscle.

As a former dancer, Clare has had many foot injuries and knows that the feet are our foundation. Her Happy Feet video provides you with easy exercises you can do at home to increase strength and flexibility in your feet. With consistent work and gentle exercises like these, Clare has been able to heal from her foot injuries, as well as prevent future ones.

“The feet are our foundation. They affect our posture from the ground up and influence how we move through the world. When our feet are aligned, comfortable, and healthy, our posture is balanced and we move with greater ease and power.”

Watch as Clare walks you through exercises that will relax and refresh your feet from your heels to your toes, and check out our ABOW YouTube Channel for more videos.
