Trainer Highlight: Diane Mateo
What classes do you teach?
I teach meditation, yoga, and Pilates. I am available to teach one on one classes for any of these offerings. For meditation, together we will develop a consistent meditation practice by finding what works best for you. We will explore different breathing techniques, mantras, and mindful movement. For yoga, we will find the flow and work with your breath to help facilitate a yoga practice all your own. Adding Hatha and Yin Yoga will add balance and guidance to your life! Finally, Pilates offers a full body workout that will sculpt and tone your entire body. It is an incredible way to build core strength through a circuit of effective pilates exercises on the mat or the machines.
How did you get started in the fitness field?
As a professional dancer, I have always been interested in all types of movement. I was immediately drawn to yoga and Pilates to help balance my body. Adding both to my daily routine has helped me maintain a healthy body.
What’s your favorite part about working at ABOW?
My good friend, Margaret Tappan, suggested I come and check out A Body of Work. I fell in love with the teachers and studio and immediately signed up for the ITT Pilates teacher training program. Teaching here is so inspiring and an adventure. I learn new things everyday from my co-workers. They cultivate such a supportive and creative environment.
